Álvaro Fernández Solas is a researcher in agrivoltaics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), based at the Institute of Solar Research in Almería, Spain. He holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (2019) and a Ph.D. in Photovoltaic Energy Systems (2023) from the University of Jaén and has been a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Denmark. His research focuses on PV performance, solar energy meteorology, and agrivoltaic systems. He contributes to international initiatives such as IEA PVPS Task 13 and the NEXUSNET COST Action. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications, presented at leading PV and agrivoltaics conferences, and supervises Bachelor’s and Master’s students, guiding them in their first steps within the research community.
