Makoto Tajima is a Board Member of the Institute for Sustainable Energy Policies (ISEP) and Head of Secretariat at the Japan Community Power Association (JCPA). With an MSc in Agronomy from the University of Hawaii, he has over 25 years of experience in international development, including work with NGOs and JICA. He serves on several boards, including the Japan Solar Sharing Federation (JSSF), CWS Japan, and Women’s Eye, and advises JANIC on disaster risk reduction. His current focus is international R&D in agrivoltaics and district heating. Since 2020, he has been a member of the AgriVoltaics International Conference Scientific Committee and serves on the India Agrivoltaics Alliance Principal Action Committee. His work bridges agricultural science and sustainable energy policy to empower local communities.
