Dr. Mahendra S. Dulawat is Professor and Head of Renewable Energy Engineering at Junagadh Agricultural University, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Renewable Energy Engineering and has over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension in sustainable agriculture. His work focuses on application of solar energy in agriculture, integrating solar PV systems with crop production, with research since 2019 on crop performance beneath PV structures, techno-economic assessment of Agrivoltaic systems, and performance analysis of Agrivoltaic net houses. He has also developed technologies such as solar-powered weeders, and solar farm rickshaws. His expertise also includes biochar production, activation, and its applications in soil health and bioenergy for carbon sequestration. He guided PG and PhD students, and actively promotes farmer-centric innovations.
