Daegu is the third-largest metropolis in South Korea after Seoul and Busan. The city is located in south-eastern Korea about 80 km (50 mi) from the seacoast, near the Geumho River and its mainstream, Nakdong River in Gyeongsang-do.
In 2013, Daegu was the host city of the 22nd World Energy Congress.
Please consult the Daegou Tourist Information Website for more information about the city of Daegu and its rich culture.
Non-Korean citizens who plan to attend the conference may need a visa. A number of countries are exempt from a visa-application at a Korean embassy. Instead, citizens of these countries may apply for a Korean Electroinic Travel Authorization (K-ETA), which can be easily carried out online. Please check the K-ETA website to determine whether you are exempt from a visa. Citizens of countries who are not eligible for the K-ETA should apply for a visa at their local Korean embassy.
